Art & Chocolate Shop

Art & Chocolate Gloucester Road front

In July 2018, Diego Godoy and his friend Mariusz Pionka, first opened the doors of their first joint shop called “Art & Chocolate” to the public. “We knew each other from the days we traded at the Harbourside market where we dreamt of becoming full-time shop owners. We talked about opening a shop together. And when the opportunity for this came we knew we had to take it. So when we discovered a shop space to let none other than in Bristol’s famous independent shopping district on Gloucester Road we knew this is it.”

“As scary as it was we took the leap. We both quit our part-time jobs and put 100% of our energy into making the dream come true. And I’m happy to say, it paid off!

Fast forward to 2022, (after some challenging times with Covid19 and the lockdowns), an unexpected and exciting opportunity arose for Diego to move his art business just next door to a spacious premises where Millards Motor Accessories used to be. After a lot of hard work redoing the shop, Diego and Jitka who is his wife and business partner, opened the doors on July 1st, 2022 and decided to call it “Artigo.”

“I aim to support specifically the new and emerging talents because I know very well what it feels like to put your creations and yourself ‘out there’. I also stock hand-made pottery, original jewellery, glass decorations, mini clay pots, rock paintings, robots and other art made of recycled materials, original Bristol souvenirs and much much more.”
